What is Self-publishing 101?

A course, delivered electronically or in-person in the Atlanta area, that helps authors better understand self-publishing. The class is designed to help people decide if self-publishing is something they want to do. Some people have inaccurate understandings of what self-publishing involves. This often leads them to believe that it is much easier or much more complicated than it really is. The best way to clarify the subject is to hear from someone who has actually done it several times.

Who is Tenesha L. Curtis?

I am the author or multiple books, all self-published (Feign I: A Poetic Collection, Feign II: The Downfall, Show Her, The Genician, Manifest Agony, What She Doesn't Know, Multiple Choice, In Helping Hands, Government Bonds, The 12-Month Manuscript). I am also the founder and CEO of Volo Press Books and Writerwerx. Volo Press Books offers writing, editing, and publishing services to businesses and individuals. Writerwerx provides educational, networking, and competitive events for writers. I am a native of Louisville, Kentucky, but moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2014. I have been writing as at least part, if not all, of my central occupation since 2002.

I facilitate Self-publishing 101 based on my failures in the self-publishing world. I want you to learn what did and didn't work for me so you can learn from my mistakes and be as successful as possible in your publishing journey.

When Does Self-publishing 101 Take Place?

At various times and dates depending upon things like the Volo Press project load, weather, room availability, and demand. To keep up with any of our events, be sure to subscribe to our newsletter.

Do I Have to Have a Manuscript Finished to Attend?

Not at all! This talk is all about the biggest differences between traditional, vanity, and self-publishing. You don't have to have written a single word to get valuable information from this meeting.
